2024 OSRS Halloween Event Guide & Rewards
Oct-17-2024 PSTWelcome to my quick guide for the 2024 Old School RS (OSRS) Halloween event! This guide will walk you through all the steps you need to complete the event, including details on how to solve each puzzle and earn those spooky rewards. Let's get started!
Getting Started: Location and Event Kickoff
To begin the Halloween event, head to the Cabbage Patch just south of Falador. You'll notice the area is decked out with Halloween decorations on the minimap. The event starts with a chat—talk to Amica, who is near the compost bin in the patch.
1. Initiate the Event: Speak to Amica and select option 1 for "Yes" when prompted. Continue through the dialogue options until you reach the option to officially start the event. Choose "Yes" again, and you'll receive a map with pictures that will help guide you through the tasks.
2. Objective Overview: The first task involves fixing a pumpkin patch by removing pumpkins that are out of place. Your goal is to harvest 16 pumpkins that are in the wrong spots and place them correctly.
Part 1: Harvesting Misplaced Pumpkins
Now that you have your map and are ready to start, let's begin removing those pumpkins!
1. Remove the Red Pumpkins: Start with the red pumpkins just north, west of two green ones. If you try to harvest pumpkins that are already in the right spot, the game won't let you, acting as a fail-safe.
2. Next Up, Orange Pumpkins: Move southwest and take out the orange pumpkins adjacent to your current spot.
3. Target the Yellow Pumpkins: Head east from your location and harvest the yellow pumpkins. They're easy to spot since they stand out against the others.
4. Continue with More Reds: Take a few steps south and remove the red pumpkins that align with the orange ones you removed earlier.
5. Harvest the Beige Pumpkins: Move a few tiles east and remove the beige pumpkins next to the green ones.
6. Clear Dark Green Pumpkins: Now, head to the western part of the patch and take out the dark green pumpkins that are further east. You should have removed six pumpkins at this stage.
Part 2: Removing the Remaining Pumpkins
1. Yellow Row Cleanup: Head south to the next row and remove the dark green pumpkins, making room for six yellow pumpkins in a line.
2. Remove More Yellow Pumpkins: In the next row down, remove the yellow pumpkins located to the east of the white pumpkins.
3. Powder Gray Pumpkins: Spot the powder gray pumpkins surrounded by green ones and remove them.
4. Additional Yellow Removal: Further down, find the next row of yellow pumpkins and take them out. This brings your total removed pumpkins to 10, putting you over halfway through this part of the event.
Part 3: Completing the Harvest
1. Harvest White Pumpkins: Take out the white pumpkins among the green, then the powder gray ones among the orange pumpkins.
2. Remove Gray Ones: A few steps east, remove the gray pumpkins.
3. Green Pumpkins Diagonal Removal: This one is trickier—remove the green pumpkins that are northeast of the powder gray ones.
4. Finish with the Last Yellow and Orange Pumpkins: Remove the last yellow pumpkins, then take out the final set of orange pumpkins. These are just north of where you are standing, a few steps west of the second cabbage to the east.
Once you have removed all 16 misplaced pumpkins, return to Amica.
Part 4: Carving and Placing Pumpkins
1. Return to Amica: Talk to her again, select option 1 when she asks how you made the field so colorful. Then, choose option 1 again to share something about your loved one.
2. Carve the Pumpkin: Withdraw a beige pumpkin from the storage bin, left-click on the table, and choose to carve it. Select option 2 for an evil design, but any design will work here.
3. Use the Carved Pumpkin: Place the carved pumpkin on the scarecrow a few steps south. A cutscene will play, showing whether it did the trick, and all the crows should gather on the scarecrow. You will receive a seed packet in your inventory.
Part 5: Fixing the Holes with Pumpkins
Now it's time to restore the patch using the seed packet. Refill each of the holes you created by placing pumpkins in the correct locations.
1. Fill the First Hole with Beige: Place a beige pumpkin in the hole between the green ones.
2. White Pumpkin for the Southwest: Add a white pumpkin in the spot to the southwest.
3. Red Pumpkin Placement: Place a red pumpkin where it matches with the other red ones nearby.
4. Orange Pumpkin to the South: Place an orange pumpkin a few steps south of the red ones.
5. Green Pumpkin: To the southeast, place a green pumpkin to connect all of the green patches.
6. Continue with Red and Yellow: Add a red pumpkin directly west, and then place a yellow pumpkin to connect with other yellow ones.
7. Fill with White and Beige: Add another white pumpkin where the other white ones are clustered, then place a beige pumpkin a few steps southeast.
8. Dark Green in the Green Zone: All of the central spots should be filled with dark green pumpkins.
9. Powder Gray and Orange Finish: Place a powder gray pumpkin near the other powder gray ones, and the two remaining holes to the west are for orange pumpkins.
10. Final Dark Green Pumpkins: Place the last two dark green pumpkins in the southeastern area.
Final Steps and Rewards
Once you've filled in all the holes, return to Amica for the final time.
1. Dialogue Choices: Choose option 1 for "Yes," then decide if you want to hear the game's sound effects or prefer silence. Either choice will trigger a cutscene for the event's conclusion.
2. Congratulations!: You've completed the 2024 OSRS Halloween event! Your rewards include:
• A Scarecrow to place in your Player-Owned House.
• A new Jack-o'-lantern that can be customized with different colors.
• The Scare-Haircrow Shirt, a new spooky apparel to show off your Halloween spirit.
